Tucked away in the quiet conservation area and hamlet of Coleford, sits a beautiful 700-year-old thatched tavern called The New Inn, waiting to soothe you into a slower, more relaxing pace during your stay.

With 7 delightful ensuite rooms, each tastefully decorated with quintessential English countryside charm, you will have no trouble finding a blissful night’s sleep at this Devon bed and breakfast that has consistently been awarded the AA’s 4 Star rating.  Our king-sized, pocket-sprung beds are draped with fresh crisp white linens and extra pillows are always available for the ultimate in luxury rest.

When you rise and welcome the morning light, we will be waiting in the restaurant to take your breakfast order.  With the warmest of smiles we will offer you the finest, seasonal local produce, in our delicious, cooked to order breakfasts, enough to fill you for a morning’s work or adventure.

Here in the heart of Mid-Devon, we are within easy distance of much of what this great county has to offer, so there will be plenty to see and do during your stay.  We have picked a few of our favourites for you here.

At the end of your day, we are here to welcome you into our Devon Inn once more, where you will find the locals friendly and ‘Captain’ our cheeky blue fronted Amazon parrot on hand to say ‘Hello’.

What you can expect during your stay 

Breakfasts are served between 8am and 9:30am, with last orders being taken at 9:15am, however a breakfast tray can be provided in your room if you’d like to enjoy some privacy or your days activities dictate an earlier start.

We offer home prepared and cooked food daily between 12 and 2:30 together with Monday to Saturday evening between 6:30pm and 8:30pm, and Sunday evening between 6:30pm and 8:00pm.

Each of the rooms have: hairdryers, Freesat TV, complimentary bottled water, tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits, complimentary toiletries and an iron/ironing board. Every morning during your stay you will be served a delicious cooked to order breakfast.  Optional extras include flowers, wine or champagne in your room for arrival.
