This beautiful Devon country Inn near Exeter with old beams and flagstones is a hidden gem of a bed and breakfast. Specialising in real country cooking, warm hospitality and ‘cooked to order’ breakfasts, the New Inn offers exceptional value! The New Inn Coleford, near Crediton with 4 star AA rated bed and breakfast accommodation is steeped in local history. Back in the 15th century, Coleford was on the main highway from Cornwall to Devon and tradition relates that the New Inn provided respite for travelling Cistercian monks. Nowadays guests stop overnight en route to Cornwall and the A30 and ‘Captain’ our talking Amazon blue parrot has greeted guests for over 39 years. Nobody is spared his cheeky comments and he just can’t keep a secret! This highly rated Devon country dining pub, The New Inn, Coleford near Crediton, with its bed and breakfast rooms is only around 8 miles from Exeter. And nearby there’s opportunities for fishing, walking and golf, there’s historic houses and gardens too or why not catch the Exe Valley Tarka Line Train, just a mile away!

The New inn is pleased to have re-opened on 4th July. We are following government guidance and industry recommendations to provide a COVID safe environment.
During these challenging times we have made some changes to our food availability. We are now offering food each evening 6pm – 9pm, with a limited menu available Sunday – Tuesday evening. Our full menu is then available Wednesday to Friday 12-3, Saturday 12 – 9 and Sunday 12 – 6.
