The Restaurant is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner where you’ll taste some of the best local food in the area – try our legendary Smokie, or our Steak and Ale pie that has received many accolades, or one of our delicious homemade desserts: together with award winning local cask ales like Otter Ale, Jail, Shingle Bay or Marther’s Mild; together with an extensive wine list and some of the finest mellow, malt whiskies!
The New Inn Coleford, near Crediton, with 4 star AA rated bed and breakfast accommodation is steeped in local history. During in the 15th century, Coleford was on the main highway from Cornwall to Devon and tradition relates that the New Inn provided respite for travelling Cistercian monks. Today our guests stay for a myriad of reasons and ‘Captain’ our talking blue faced Amazon parrot has greeted guests since 1985. Nobody is spared his cheeky comments, and he just can’t keep a secret! This highly rated Devon country dining pub has many nearby opportunities for shooting, fishing, walking and golf, together with historic houses and gardens or why not catch the Exeter to Barnstaple ‘Tarka’ Line Train at Copplestone Railway Station which is just over a mile from the New Inn.
Whether you just pop in for a pint, dine with us, or stay for a short-break, a business trip or world famous rugby at 'Sandy Park' Exeter, you’ll find a warm and welcoming ambience and real customer care at The New Inn, Coleford which will ensure you’ll want to return time and again.
