Outside our door.

If you’re on the hunt for amazing events, activities & things to do throughout the year in Devon, you definitely won’t want to miss: the sandy beaches and dramatic coastal cliffs; green rolling hills and deep wooded valleys with waterfalls; estuaries with boats; not forgetting Dartmoor and Exmoor for views and walks; and there’s even a 5 mile circular walk from the Inn door, we can supply you with a printed walk guide, together with a well earned pint at the end.

Out and about in Devon

Devon: homeland of the Dumnonii Brittonic Celts; cliffs and sandy shores; bays containing fishing towns and ports; and home to Dartmoor, the largest open space in southern England.  What an abundance of scenery!

Visit the city of Exeter and maybe take in an Exeter Chiefs’ Rugby game at Sandy Park or go north to experience first-hand the Lorna Doone and ‘Tarka the Otter’ countryside.  The cobbled hill village of Clovelly where the lobster pots are landed from Lundy Island and the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth backed by The Valley of the Rocks are also with a short journey.

In the south, Burgh Island with its sea tractor are a must together with the sailing estuaries of Dartmouth and Salcombe: not forgetting the seaside beach towns of Exmouth, Dawlish and Budleigh Salterton.

Here are just a few interesting places, outside our door, that we think you may enjoy.
