Out & about in Devon
Devon - What an abundance of scenery!
Sandy beaches and dramatic coastal cliffs, green rolling hills and deep wooded valleys with waterfalls. Estuaries with boats and Dartmoor and Exmoor for views and walks, and there's a 5 mile circular walk from the pub door too!
Visit the city of Exeter or Lorna Doone and 'Tarka the Otter' Devon countryside, the cobbled hill village of Clovelly where the lobster pots are landed from Lundy Island and the twin towns of Lynton and Lynmouth in North Devon.
In the south, Burgh Island with its Pilchard Inn and sea tractor are a must and the sailing estuaries of Dartmouth and Salcombe.
You'll want to return because there's so much to see and do!
And don't forget the local Winkleigh Devon cider............

Lydford Gorge near Okehampton with its feature 30m waterfall known as the White Lady Waterfall and also the Devil’s Cauldron whirlpools.
Buckland Abbey, Yelverton, near Tavistock. This was Sir Francis Drake’s former home.
R.H.S. Rosemoor Gardens, Great Torrington – an enchanting 65 acre garden.

Dartington Glass Factory, Great Torrington – an outstanding Devon attraction.
Castle Drogo, Drewsteignton– the last castle to be built in England.
